Gotta Have Gear for Baby
Get the inside scoop on baby stuff we love

There’s so much gear available for your little one- from diaper pails & books to activity mats & strollers, we’ve listed our favorites that we couldn’t have lived without.

Diaper Pails:
Several of my friends swear by the Diaper Genie but it does fill up quickly and the smell can be less than desirable. We went the cheap and less smelly route and simply placed the dirty diapers in a Wal-Mart sack- tied it up tight and placed it in a trash can in our garage.

Books:
Where is Baby’s Belly Button (Board book)
By Karen Katz

Karen Katz was an instant favorite at our house. My cousin bought my son a gift set of three of her books (Where is Baby’s Belly Button, Where is Baby’s Mommy, and Toes, Ears & Nose) when he was born. These books contain bright colors combined with “lift and look” flaps which really encouraged his hand eye coordination. There are several more books in this family such as: No Hitting, I can Share, No Biting, A Potty for Me, Wiggle Your Toes, and more. See more at karenkatz.com.

Activity Mats:
We LOVE the
Tiny Love Gymini Super Delux Zoo .
The Tiny Love Gymini Super Deluxe Zoo Activity Gym combines lights, music and a three dimensional play space- very safe and encourages baby to explore and develop. This award winning padded activity gym is the first Gymini to be activated by baby helping to keep him amused while developing motor skills, perception and cognition. Enchanting toys dangle at varying heights for baby to enjoy while lying on his back or tummy. The electronic lights and music touch pad plays two modes of music: 10 minutes of classical music by Mozart for the early stages, specially selected and arranged by top musicologists; nursery tunes for later stages. Tunes are combined with the lights and colors when activated by baby for immediate feedback.

Strollers:
Here is where you really need to do your homework. Think in advance of your needs as your baby grows. We wanted a stroller that would combine the immediate need of an infant car set and stroller all in one. We also wanted something that was lightweight but could handle varied terrain. We splurged and purchased the Eddie Bauer Lightweight Travel System. It features a fully reclining seat, one hand fold n’ stand, and the infant seat had the ever important 5 point harness. My son is 2 ½ and we still use the stroller for extended trips. See it at
Eddie Bauer Travel System.
