Thanks Chicken Hey All, I realized I didn't introduce myself I was so overwhelmed with the food allergies that I failed to say who I am. My name is Tammy I go by Chicken, I have been Married for 18 years I have 2 step daughters ages 26 & 22 1 step son 20, 2 sons ages 2 & 8 and 1 Step-Grandson 3, The extended family I have has made me stronger in life, I was 17 when I took on the step parenting role I was 28 when I finally had my first child, 34 when I had my second child which was 1 year after my grandson was born, this process was very hard for me because I was in school was accepted in the surgical tech program and had to leave without a guarantee of getting back in, due to the pregnancy I am now once again a stay at home mom. I love my life and my children. I love to cook and I have learned how to cook without eggs due to my two year olds allergies. FAAN is a great website for food allergies if you need it and I pray you don't. This is a few things about me. Hope I didn't bore you to much. |

Hi, Chicken! What an interesting nickname! I'm sorry to hear of your sons allergies. I'm sure that can be very difficult to deal with. What an interesting life! To take on someone elses kids at the tender age of 17. Wow. You've been raising kids your whole life! I will be married 17 years this September, and I have a 21 month old daughter. |

awwwwwwwww shucks it isn't all that bad I Love them all and wouldn't trade it for anything no matter how hard or difficult it gets. I will be married 18 this August, As, for the Allergies that might have been a challenge I rather not take but God had other plans and since I love to cook I guess he knew what he was doing, I can now make bread (dinner rolls) and cinnamon rolls without eggs. I made him an apple sauce cake for his 2 birthday and I am always looking for something different that I can twist to fit his style of eating. Your little girl must be like him, into everything, climbing, running, jumping, and dancing. I also see you probably went through some time of thinking she would never arrive too. I felt that way for awhile.... Congradulations on your little girl.... It is awesome to finally get the baby you have always dreamed of. Have a wonderful day thanks for your kind comments. chicken |

Yes, Chicken, she is definitely into exploring right now. So fun to watch her discover and learn... You know, I never really wanted kids, and wasn't trying to have any. I had been married 15 years before I had Makenna, so we just thought it wasn't possible! It was a HUGE adjustment when I found out I was pregnant. But, she is definitely the biggest blessing ever. God plans our lives just right. Homemade cinnamon rolls, yummmmmm. I looked at the recipe for cinnamon rolls once and promptly closed the book. It was so involved and time-consuming! |

Hey Cheree, that suprises me I personally wanted a baby the whole time I didn't have one I felt incomplete. I don't feel that incomplete anymore though, My life is so full I am like most moms and very lucky to find time for myself. Oh! on those cinnamon rolls they are so good I get a lot of compliments on them, and yes they are time consuming, however, it is broken time. It takes a little bit of effort wait a couple of hours and then roll wait a bit and bake not to bad it is quite relaxing to me. If I had a commercial oven at home I would try to sell them. Well Cheree thank you for reading my post. I am fairly new to the site and kinda learning as I go. So much to look up... Great Refrences here!!! Thanks! |

Hi Chicken! May I ask how your nickname came about? AND, I'm gathering from your posts you are 36? I am, also, 36! About wanting/having a baby....I have worked with kids my whole life. I started babysitting when I was 10. Maybe my "need" for babies was fulfilled taking care of other people's kids? My husband and I have been together 20 years, we met, and dated, in high-school. We loved our life, just the two of us, and we just didn't feel we wanted kids. And, honestly, we didn't think I could get pregnant... I wish you WOULD sell your cinnamon rolls. I'd buy! My husband used to work with a gal that made and sold her own cinnamon rolls. They were SO good... God bless you. Have a great day! |

Hi again Cheree , I am amazed you pegged my age like that. My other half is older than me by 11 years and I don't always picture myself as being my age but I will be 37 this July. We have been together 20 years total also however not from high school. I met my husband through work which is also how I received my nickname, now this might give away the job, but I was a carhop And back in the day when we used those funny banana clips for our hair, need I say anymore???? for some reason with those visors and my hair up in those things well it looked much like a rooster's crown. ok now I am embarresed. About those cinnamon rolls I wish I could get the nerve I need to sell, more like confidence...I have been given comments that make me feel I have the talent to do it but the business side of it all scares me like crazy .... Thanks for your gracious thought of me selling you are not the only one that has supported me in the idea of selling. Only, your special saying it when you haven't even tried them, so again Thanks...Have a wonderful night. |

I pegged your age, because you had said you had your 2nd baby, that is now 2, when you were 34. You know, I wondered if your nickname had anything to do w/Sonic, the drive-in! lol Banana clips! Loved those. I fact, I still have one. Sad, but true. Yes, the business-side of selling would make me nervous, too... Maybe you could just start by selling to friends and family and see how it goes? The gal my husband bought from, she sold to people her husband worked with. She made them in those disposable aluminum round pans. Which reminds me, now my husabnd buys homemade tamales from some guy at work. He loves them. God bless! |

Duh! I have so much going on with the little man that I forgot I put my age! On the cinnamon rolls/bread, that is an idea I do make them for friends and family every once in awhile out of Love though no charge. The last couple of months it has been put on the back burner though due to trying to work out other recipes without eggs in them. I already have it down on my bread but I have to figure out things like pasta which I have never made before but I am eager to try. It took me about a week toying with a cake recipe to get his birthday cake made, it really helps having a substitute to work with. I was given another idea on the cake that I hadn't heard before that I am going to try on my next cake and that is 7-up or sprite? I will try anything really. If it works out I will send the recipe in to FortSmithMoms. I made his birthday cake with Applesauce and then they listed an applesauce cake on the website I thought that was cool but you know it don't have to be an egg free cake to add applesauce to your cake, and adding it will make it moist. Just a hint if you like to bake? Well Cheree it has been really nice talking with you Thanks for sharing with me it has been wonderful having someone my age to talk to again.....God Bless |

I DO like to bake. In fact, I'd rather bake than cook. I have heard of the applesauce trick, but I haven't tried it because I'm not exactly sure how it works? Do you use it instead of the oil a recipe calls for, or is it added as an extra ingredient? I have a really great site my friend gave me for recipes that you may want to take a look at? http://www.thatsmyhome.com/ Yes, always nice to have adult conversation when you live with a 2 year old all day! Speaking of, mine just woke. Talk to you soon! |

Yes! Thank You so much for the website!!! . ON the Applesauce you just add it to the cake is what I do, one to two table spoons depending on one or two cake recipe. I always kinda adjust as I go especially these days. Again Thanks for the tip on the web site I can't wait to check it out the first chance I get. I hope all is well with you at home after last nights storms. Take care God Bless |

You're welcome! I hadn't noticed if the site had recipes for allergy-related foods, but I thought it was a great site for recipes, in general. I will definitely try the applesauce in my next recipe. I am making banana/bran muffins next week, I think I will try it in those! They are so good, and you can keep the batter refrigerated for up to two weeks, so you can bake the muffins fresh as you need them. We had a large pine tree knocked down by winds, and we had a lightening strike that took out a printer and some other computer equipment in our office. We did not get the hail that North FS received. We were in our storm shelter on-and-off all night! We made a bad decision by thinking we could beat the storm so we went to go get some dinner, and on our way back home all the tornado sirens were going off in Fianna Hills! Did you get any damage? |

Hello Cheree so glad to hear you didn't have any major damage with the weather. We had some roof damage and some water coming in my kitchen, other than that my backyard is flooded and my poor trees barely have leaves left to protect my birds that come around. The family however is quite safe and that is all that matters to me..... Those Muffins sure sound good and what a deal you can bake anytime for two weeks WOW! a great time saver! My dough can be kept for a month in the freezer but I just can't seem to do that when I get it made I have to bake it I just love the smell more than eating it. How strange is that?.. Have a great day. |

Hi, Chicken! Sorry it took me so long to respond. We were in Oklahoma, visiting family, and while there, Makenna was hit w/eye and ear infections due to allergies. Oh my, it was quite an eventful week! Poor little thing... BUT, she is feeling much better, and we are on the road to recovery! Much Thanks to God for that. Sounds like the storm got you pretty good. I'm glad you are all safe. Speaking of, I hear thunder as I'm typing to you, so the next storm is on its way! I love the smell of things baking, too! I don't like it more than eating it though. lol In fact, Yankee Candle had a candle out for awhile called chocolate chip cookies, and it smelled JUST LIKE you were baking cookies. It was SO good. I wish I had more time to bake and cook. I love homemade sweets. Hope you and yours are doing well, Chicken. We're all snotty and sneezy from Spring-time allergies at my house. |

| hi everyone. my name is sara and i just joined this site. i found out about it through the childrens sale in fort smith. i am the proud mother of a six month old baby girl. she is my first child. she was born last october in little rock ar. she was 14 weeks premature and only weighed 1 lb. 7 oz. we were in litte rock for right at four months. lilly is doing great now. she has been home for about 2 months and now weighs 8 and 1/2 pounds. she is truly our miracle baby. i think that this site is so wonderful, most all of my girlfriends are single with out any children, and i am now a stay at home mommmy so i sometimes feel a little secluded. i did not realize how hard being a mom was, but i am so glad that i am one, it is the most imp't job in the world..well hope to talk to everyone later. Hello, Sara! WOW... I cannot imagine having such a tiny, tiny baby... Mine weighed in at almost 9 lbs at birth I'm so glad Lilly is home and doing well. You're absolutely right. Being a mommy IS the most important job in the world, and don't let society tell you otherwise. I have a 21 month old daughter named, Makenna, and I am also, a SAHM. |

Hi Cheree . I am sorry to hear about your little girl I know truly what it is like when you have allergy problems with a child Jacob my youngest is the one I have food allergies with, and eczema a very bad skin disease that is very hard to control. So I will certainly pray for your little girl to get through the allergy quickly with minimum discomfort, Wow I am really sorry I truly know how bad it can get........ As for the house it is just material no reason to fret over that.. like you said I am happy my family is safe.. I have insurance and more than that I have GOD!! You are so right about those yankee candles...I too like the smells but you see about the eating part, well after a little over 20 years of smoking I quit so this month I will be celebrating 1 year smoke free, however, my weight is almost 20 pounds more so eating is something I am trying to cut back on now...... So for me I am doing good just need to walk more I have gone from 104 after baby to 128 after smoking I am a short person so it really shows. lol oh well I am healthy... Cheree thanks for your chat as always God Bless |
