Summer Dance Camps for ages 4-12 are a great way to get kids active. They feature creative movement and/or ballet geared to the students’ levels. Each day, participants will be taught a dance class, as well as study music, dance history, nutrition, creative expression, mime, dance vocabulary and dance expression.
Dates & times:
Ages 4-5: June 22-26, 10:30am – noon, $50.
Ages 6-7: June 6-10, 1-3pm, $55.
Ages 8-12: July 6-10, 9:30am – noon, $60.
Ages 4-5: July 13-17, 1-2:30pm, $50.
Ages 6-7: July 13-17, 10am – noon, $55.
For dancers 12 and older with a minimum of two years’ classical ballet training, WAB again offers its 18th Annual Lorraine Cranford Summer Dance Workshop June 12-20. In a free performance, students will showcase what they have learned at 1pm June 30 at UA-Fort Smith’s Breedlove Auditorium. This workshop offers dance students an opportunity to be exposed to professionals without leaving the state. They will be classified by performance levels before beginning classes. They workshop features three daily ballet, jazz and modern classes along with three rehearsals for a total of six hours of instruction.
For fledgling tappers and new this year, WAB has a One-Day Tap Class Workshop given by their resident tap instructor.
