Scrap Paper Gift Wrap Ideas
by Julie Jones

If you are a scrapbooker, chances are that you have a lot of extra “scrap” paper lying around. Here, I will show some ways to jazz up your gift-wrapping with those scraps. Also, if you don’t have scrap paper lying around, you will only need to by a few sheets of paper to achieve these looks!

**Birthday hat topper: For this hat topper you will need about a 6x6 sheet of patterned paper and another complimentary piece to add the streamers. Begin by tracing a small plate or large cup onto your paper. Trim the circle out and cut exactly in half. This makes enough for two hats. Roll the paper into a hat shape and glue or tape to hold into place. Trim several thin strips of paper from a contrasting sheet. Roll the paper around the end of a pencil, or your finger to make curly streamers. Stick them into the top of the hat (when you roll it, there will be a tiny hole left at the top). Punch two holes at the bottom of your hat to thread some curling ribbon through. Wrap the curling ribbon around the present and your hat should stay on very secure!

**Curly paper topper: Hand cut several then strips of paper. Roll them around your finger or a pen to make them curly. Attach to the top of the present.

**Paper bow topper: Hand cut several inch thick strips of patterned paper or cardstock. Loop them to make an “O” shape. Place them together so that they form a bow when you press down in the middle of them. Attach in the middle with a spare brad. Attach with a glue dot or tape to the top of your gift.

**Party blower topper: Cut a strip of paper about ½ inch wide. Fold into thirds to resemble the paper part of a party blower. Adhere with tape. Attach the end to a small piece of a straw and then roll up the paper. Attach to the gift with other ribbon.
