Easy Beaded Bracelet
by Julie Jones (a.k.a. creative genius)
For this project you will need:
- Large colorful plastic or wooden beads
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Step 1: Cut a piece of ribbon a few inches longer than the circumference of your wrist (or neck if you want to make a necklace).
Step 2: Fold the ribbon in half and tie a knot, so that the knot is now in the middle of the ribbon.
Step 3: String a bead onto the ribbon, so that it touches the knot.
Step 4: Tie another knot to hold the bead in place.
Step 5: String another bead and tie another knot.
Step 6: Continue doing this until you have the desired number of beads on the necklace or bracelet.
Step 7: Tie a bow at the end of the string of beads to finish off the bracelet or necklace.
This is a fun craft for kids and adults. I like the fact that when my daughter is doing it, she is having fun and working on her motor skills at the same time. It helps to dab a little bit of Fray Check onto the end of the ribbon to prevent it from fraying as you work. You can find Fray Check at Wal-Mart or any sewing store.
