Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia returns to Northwest Arkansas for another of their spectacular black light shows! The triple-bill includes the wonderful story of THE VERY HUNGRY CATERPILLAR's metamorphosis into a beautiful butterfly; the fanciful account of LITTLE CLOUD's travels through the sky, and the MIXED-UP CHAMELEON's discovery of his own unique nature. The whimsical tales have enchanted several generations, and Mermaid's acclaimed stage adaptation teaches as well as entertains.

Easy Name Garland
by Julie Jones

This name garland was very fun and easy to make. For this project you will need:

- Patterned paper
- Regular copy paper
- Chipboard
- Computer font
- Glue
- Scissors
- Ribbon
- Eyehook screws

(1) Begin by determining the size you would like your letters to be. I used a font size of about 200. To change the font size, simply click in the font size box on your tool bar and type the number you would like. I used Microsoft Word and a font that was very basic. To save ink, change your font to outline. To do this, go to the Format menu. Click on font and then check the outline box. This switches your font to just an outline and will save tons of ink!

(2) Print out your letters on regular sheets of copy paper. Cut them out.

(3)
Trace them onto the BACK of your patterned paper. Be sure you flip the letter over so that the pattern side of the pattern paper is the way your letter should look when you are finished.

(4) Also trace the letters onto chipboard. This gives the letter a sturdier back and holds up to temperature changes in your home.

(5) Once your patterned paper letters and your chipboard letters are cut out, glue them together.

(6) Punch very small holes into the tops or middles of your letters and thread ribbon through the holes.

(7) Attach to the wall with tacks or eyehook screws.

This is a great project for seasonal décor, birthday décor, or any room décor. You could make a “Happy Birthday” banner for a birthday party, a “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Easter” banner for holidays or even a banner with the word “dream”, “love”, or “sleep” for a bedroom. The possibilities are endless. Enjoy!
